Overview of Managed Care Onboarding with EStronghold

Managed Care is our full-service retainer at $2,200/month: priority business-hours support, four included support hours, stronger backup verification, and more frequent review activity for your Magento Open Source store. Customers often ask what signing up actually involves — how long it takes, what we need from them, and when the day-to-day maintenance begins. Here is the process, laid out week by week. From kickoff to steady state, expect about four weeks.

Week 1: kickoff and access setup

We start with a kickoff call to confirm your domains, hosting setup, and a primary technical contact — the person we coordinate with for everything that follows. Then we set up access the safe way: individual named accounts and a password vault with per-user logging instead of shared passwords. If you use Cloudflare or another edge provider, we ask to be added as a restricted user so we can review your firewall rules without ever touching your master account.

Your time commitment: one kickoff call and one hour of access setup.

Week 2: security baseline

With access in place, we run a read-only review of your storefront: Magento version and patch level, installed extensions, admin accounts and two-factor status, credential hygiene, and backup coverage. For Managed Care clients this baseline also includes a stronger backup verification pass — we confirm your backups actually restore, not just that they exist. Nothing is changed on your store during this week; production checkout is untouched.

Your time commitment: none. We work in the background.

Week 3: patching and hardening

This is the week visible changes happen. Security patches are applied to a staging copy first, tested, then deployed in an agreed maintenance window — the same scheduled-window discipline our Core Care retainer uses, just with more frequent review activity. Dormant admin accounts are removed, two-factor authentication is enforced for everyone who signs into the backend, and any urgent findings from the week 2 review are fixed.

Your time commitment: a short approval on the maintenance window.

Week 4: monitoring and steady state

In the final onboarding week we switch on monitoring and confirm your support channel is live. From here, Managed Care settles into its ongoing rhythm: priority business-hours response when you need us, your four included support hours available for any covered task, regular review cycles, and a monthly report in plain language covering what we did, what we found, and what we recommend next.

What happens after week 4

  • Monthly: patch review and application, backup verification, admin and monitoring review, and your written report.
  • Anytime: four included support hours at priority business-hours response; extra time is billed at the discounted $155/hour retainer rate.
  • Quarter to quarter: the retainer starts with a three-month term, then continues month-to-month that you can cancel with 30 days notice.

The short version

Onboarding takes about four weeks, needs roughly two hours of your time in total, and ends with a patched, monitored, verified-backup storefront backed by priority support. Email [email protected] to start your Managed Care onboarding.
